If the currest verion of the NuGet package is in the 7 something but you only have .NET 5.0 installed then simply select the HIGHEST 5.X version available and it should resolve the error.
Conclusion
When trying to install a political Entity Framework Core NuGet package we received the error NU1202. In our case, it means the current version is not in line with the version of .NET we have installed (5.0) current preview versions are into the 7ts and we need to select the highest version for what we have installed so we took the highest 5.0 version availabe and this resolved it.
