I have had this for around a month, I put it in myself. I thought it was fairly simple to put in but if you are not mechanically inclined to have some funkiness going on with your door handle you may want to consult a professional/handyman.
This door handle uses a Through bolt design so you will need to drill a hole from the outside to the inside towards the bottom of the door handle, then a bolt will go from the INSIDE to the outside where you drilled the hole to keep the bottom secure. I was initially nervous about doing this but it was pretty straightforward, I did go one size smaller than it was recommended in the instructions (remember you can always make it bigger later, not so much the other way around) (watch my video above to see further).
This does not have a lock from the inside or outside, it is just a handle, if your deadbolt is unlocked and you push on this then you should be able to get in if you are in need of a secondary lock beside your deadbolt this particular handle won’t work for your needs, but the deadbolt likely still should.
My opinion: This is a PERFECT paring to other Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt. (If you don’t need a door handle that has a lock on it, this one is decorative and beautiful)

I have had the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt for MANY years (since the beginning of 2018 I think), if I recall it uses my Apple TV as some type of controller to communicate so I can lock or unlock the door handle from anywhere in the world, there is a little delay when using it in that fashion but it works every time. (If your internet was down obviously it won’t work).
I believe it always works through Bluetooth, so if you had a guest standing behind you and you didn’t want to type out the door code right in front of them you could just unlock your phone first then go either the Apples Home app or the Schlage app and click the lock or unlock button.
It lets you set up to 20 different codes either manually at the lock (what a pain), or through the app (very easy) so every time we have a guest coming over I create a special code for them so they feel special they can get in and out and that we are giving them respect.
I bought TWO of these one for the front door, and one for the garage door so I never need to carry my keys anymore.
The battery life has been great, I might replace the batteries for the one on the garage side once a year and twice if I’m using it tons and tons (uses 4 AA batteries that are VERY easy to replace from the inside, meaning you do NOT take the whole thing apart to get to it, it’s accessible from the top of the inside behind the cover). I do not use the one at the front door often so the batteries last much longer than a year. I keep both because if I lost power and could not get into the garage I could still get into the house.
It has built-in alarm technology that senses potential door attacks, if the i robot taps the door it will beep at the deadbolt I like it.
I called customer service once when I had an installation question they were quite knowledgeable and answered it well, I can tell they stand behind their product. I right go with tried and true then some fly-by-night company with bells and whistles that don’t work.
My opinion: It’s AWESOME, git it you will think why didn’t you get one much sooner. The best feature I love about this is, it lets me now on my phone when it locks or unlocks, this is extremely useful in my mind.
